Norway will build the worlds first ever ship tunnel to allow ships to navigate safely through the exposed Stadhavet sea. The northern access will be in Selje and the southern access is from the Moldefjord.
A viewing bridge will also be built over the southern access to let people watch the ships as they pass through the tunnel. Construction is expected to in 2019. Eventually between 70 and 120 ships will be able to pass through the tunnel on a daily basis.
