An official trailer has been released for the movie Wonka, starring Timothée Chalamet. The trailer originally debuted at CinemaCon in April.
The Wonka film serves as a prequel and origin story which will show how a young Willy Wonka started out before becoming his future self in the classic story, as well as how he met the Oompa-Loompas on one of his earliest adventures. The movie will also feature a musical aspect as well.
Paul King is the director and co-wrote the film alongside Simon Farnaby, who also stars in it.
Starring alongside Chalamet are Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter and Olivia Colman.
Other cast members include Natasha Rothwell, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
It is scheduled to be released in theaters and in IMAX in North America on December 15th, 2023 and internationally beginning in December 2023.
