Including all previous Age of Empires 2 expansions, you will be able to enjoy the newly added “The Last Khans” content. This will include three new campaigns and four new civilizations – Bulgarians, Cumans, Lithuanians and Tatars. Other general additions to the Definitive Edition include an updated multiplayer, a spectator mode and native streaming support.

Even after two decades since it’s original release, what is quite possibly one of the most popular strategy games ever, continues to survive and thrive. In a sense this is no surprise, as Age of Empires 2 and the Age of Empires franchise has a big cult following, not to mention the franchise’s fame ends up attracting new players too.

The Definitive Edition of Age of Empires 2 is not the first remastering. In 2013 (9th April) this critically acclaimed strategy game was originally remastered and released as Age of Empires 2 HD Edition. As with the Definitive Edition, the HD Edition featured improved graphics.
